Caterpillar joins UNACEA
UNACEA (the National Union of Construction Equipment and Attachments Companies) represents the Italian association for machinery and equipment companies regarding the construction sector, of which the president is Paolo Venturi.
Its birth dates back to 2010 and today, after 8 years, it has around 50 members, including over half, in terms of turnover, of the Italian earthmoving companies.
Among the most important national companies are Fiori, Ihimer, Indeco and Simex, to which are added international brands, based in the area, such as Komatsu Utility Europe and New Holland Kobelco, belonging to the Fiat Group.
Recently, these companies have joined Caterpillar, with its Italian division Caterpillar Products based in Minorbio (BO). The American company founded in 1919 is an established and well-known international brand, with sales and revenues of approximately 45 billion dollars. This membership thus further increases the importance and visibility of UNACEA.
The national association is in turn part of the CECE (Committee for European Construction Equipment), which seeks to harmonize the interests and standards with regard to the construction sector at European level. The institution represents 13 EU states, including: Italy, Germany, UK, France, Russia and Turkey; and has a sector size of 1,200 companies with 300,000 people involved.
In addition to the importance of the UNACEA organization, the numbers of the Italian market are also improving, with 12,275 new machines in 2017 having an annual growth of 15% compared to 2016.
